Our Culture Presentation

15/03/2018

My group's culture project was based on European/Uk culture.
It included: Art, Food, Clothes, Sport, Language and popular landmarks.

The Slides that I had done was:
Art, and the Welsh language.
I found learning the welsh language was quite challenging. I had to write what it means how to spell it and the easiest way to say it.

What have I learned:
I have learned more about the Welsh culture, as well as the Art/Music in the UK.

The Time When Prince Of Morocco Underestimates The Caskets Wisdom

The Merchant Of Venice

Act Two, Scene Seven
1. Which casket does the Prince of Morocco think is worthy to contain Portia’s portrait. Use evidence of the text to justify your answer.
He chose the gold casket. He thinks that gold is the only thing worthy enough to hold Portia's picture. The Gold Casket promises what many men desire. It seems all men desire Portia, as they're coming from every corner of the earth to woo her.

2. How is Portia feeling in A2S7 -at the beginning, -while the Prince is making his choice, at the end? Casual-Nervous-She is relieved that he didn't choose the right casket.

3. What was Portia's father trying to achieve by the use of the caskets? Does this seem to be working?

The reason was to see who was fit for his daughter. It was either they would do anything for her (like jump off a cliff) or use her for her money. Yes, I believe that her father's strategy is working.

Act Two, Scene Eight
4. What double disaster has struck Shylock?
His ducats and jewels have been stolen and his daughter is missing.

5. Where did Shylock think Lorenzo & Jessica might be?
The masquerade party

6. How did Bassanio and Antonio part?
With a small chat and a handshake.

What is the first suggestion of trouble for Antonio? Find a quote that tells you this.
He still hasn't gotten the money for Shylock
Let good Antonio look he keep his day,
Or he shall pay for this.
