Venn Diagram

This is my Venn diagram that I had made. This shows what happened only in the book, Movie, and both. It turns out that in the process of making the movie they decided to add in a few more scenes and changes than what happened in the book.

Fears Part Eight FINALE

1. He has never slept away from home before. He doesn't like being away from his family.

2. Eddie has no fear of being caught by the teachers. He actually says what he thinks about August to his face. Julian, on the other hand, talks about August behind his back. Julian usually never talks to August like that to his face.

3. Everyone has gotten used to August's face. At the start they all wanted to stay away from August, now they all are acting normal towards him. They stand up for August because they know that it's not right to bully someone. Everyone in his school is either friends or good acquaintances with August.

4. August definitely deserved the Beecher prep award. He went through so much at the beginning but stayed strong to the end. Although they had bullied him he didn't pay much attention to it. From having no friends to being popular at school. He was always treating others kindly, unknown to who they may be.

5. In the beginning, August was this shy kid who would bearly socialize with other students. He felt like a polar bear in the jungle. The kids at school with stare at his face all the time. They would either pick on him or try to avoid social interaction at all times. For the last few chapters of the book, he ended up being really popular. Auggie had a load of friends. Everyone accepted August for who he is.

6. My favourite character if probably Mr. Tushman. He's always so nice to the students and teachers at his school. He's always there for August.

7. Friendship:

• Although he was being picked on in school he still made friends. It started with Jack Will, to Summer, to basically his whole year group in school.

Betrayal:

• Jack was once a friend until August realized that he had been talking about him behind his back. Jack was August's first friend in school and at the time his only friend before Summer came along. August felt betrayed.

Overcoming Challenges:

• At the start, he was socially awkward.
• He was homeschooled.
• No friends at the school.
• Had to put up with everyone talking behind his back.
• Daisy's death
• Going to camp
• Having his first sleepover.

Bullying:

• Had to go through everyone in school picking on August.

Family Relationships:

• August has a strong bond with his family.
• They all support each other.
• They go through distrust

8. August is really a smart kid. He would probably be popular in school. Although there would be those people that would judge Auggie, his friends would be there to stick up for him.

Wonder Part Six

1. He hates school events that include parent because no matter where they are facing they just stare at him. It's like he's the North and all the needles are pointing at him. He doesn't like people staring at him constantly.

2. Everyone has gotten over Julian's bullying and rumours. They have has enough of the war and are used to August's face.

3. He doesn't want hearing aids because he looks like a Lobot. He doesn't like how they are very noticeable. He also doesn't want to be made fun of.

4. She didn't want to be known as the girl with a demented brother, or the play was about something August wouldn't like. I think Via's mum understood why Via didn't want her parents going because they would bring August.

5. It makes you feel happy and proud of yourself.

6. It had a huge impact. Everyone felt sad, everyone missed Daisy and her habits.

Miranda

7. Because she saw that Via's family was there. Since Miranda had no family or friends there she thought that Via should perform since there is a family supporting her.

8. Miranda has gone through a lot since ninth grade. It all started with a few lies, in the end, she was trying to fit in.

Musical:

The meaning of the song 'Wonder" by Natalie Merchant is a song to may people who grew up with special needs and their caretakers. The song views these people as "wonders," with doctors having no explanation for their condition, but seeing the work of God in the creation. August is one of the "wonders" in the movie.

Justin Wonder Part 5

1. He's stressing out because he hasn't met Olivia's parents before. Shows this by a few hard blinks and an occasional head pull.

2. He shakes Olivia's dad's hand because that's how men say hello.

He gave Vias mum a hug letting off a friendly vibe.

And a fist-punch for Auggie its something simple.

And a kiss on the cheek to say hello to Via, because he's her girlfriend.

3. Yes, its good to stand up for other people. I love how he tapped his case when he said: "if you don't leave him alone, you will be very sorry". Early that day August and Jack commented that it looks like he had a machine gun in his case.

4. She feels like an awful person because she didn't tell her family about the play. If they come they would bring August and she doesn't want that. She just wanted to be normal without being knowing about her brother.

5. Part five is about Justin's view of what has been happening in the book. In this part, we now know that Justin is Via's boyfriend, that there is a play that Justin and Olivia have taken part in, and that Justin knows what is going on at Augusts school.

1. Strange looking was what she thought about his face. Summer sat with him because she felt bad for him. No one was talking/going near him. Everyone was back chatting about him. Its hard enough being the new kid but even worse if you look like August.

2. Because Julian may have a crush on her. Summer is apparently very pretty and kind and the 'popular' group would love having her around. The only condition was that she would have to stop being friends with August.

3. Summer is always nice to Auggie. They are both new and need friends.

4. They are different than they look. They may look like a big angry tough dude but they are actually kind and gentle. They are misunderstood by their appearance.

5. The first reaction was the Jack did not want to do it. 2nd reaction- He doesn't want to hang out with a deformed kid. Jack changed his mind because if a little kid like Jamie. who is usually a nice enough kid, can be that mean, then a kid like August doesn't stand a chance in middle school.

6. He feels rejected. He doesn't understand why August wasn't talking to him.

When we realized what summer meant by bleeding screen he regretted everything he said to Julian. He was shocked and speechless.

7. Julian was harassing Jack about being partners with August and how he's a freak, plus no one likes him. Julian kept on going on about how you don't have to be friends and insisted on being partners with Jack. Although Jack said no Julian told the teacher to swap partners. But Jack luckily told the teacher to not swap. Punching Julian in the face was the wrong thing to do but he definitely deserved it. Julian wouldn't stop harassing him about the topic when Jack already said no multiple times.

8. I think of Jack a person that makes mistakes and doesn't know how to fix them. He stands up for his friends if needed to.

9. August would probably be surprised and curious about why be punched Julian in the face.

'I Like Being Alone, But I Hate Being Lonely' Wonder 2

1. Part 1 is about August's point of view and what happened to him. In part 2 its all about Via's (August's sister) point of view.
2. Via doesn't get much time for herself with just her parents. She doesn't get much help or attention.
3. When she says August is the sun. This means that August is always the centre of attention.
4. Yes, I agree with Via, You should not be teaching a person that life is like cupcakes and rainbows when it's not. August is not normal. Most people aren't going to treat him like a normal person. In reality, there is no such thing is normal, everyone is different in good and bad ways.
5. She is like a different person at school she can be whoever she wants. Usually, she is known as the kid with a younger deformed sibling.
6. There's a 1 in 4 chance that Via would pass on the defective gene to the child. These are not very good odds.
7. Miranda is a character who was great friends with Via. Since she's been at camp she was thinking about what she wants to be known for in High School. She doesn't include Via and doesn't talk to her. She's kind and friendly but she pretending that popular kid.
8. Via is a kind person. She never gets much attention in her family. I do empathise her. Auggie gets basically anything he wants and gets away with everything. Via is left to fend for her self and bearly gets noticed in her family.
9. I think that Jack Will would not know that August heard anything. He would be most likely unsure why August would be ignoring him.

‘I Didn't Lose A Friend, I Just Realized I Never Had One’ Wonder 1

Wonder

1. because he has a braid at the back of his head. It represents a padawan (A Padawan is a Jedi apprentice).

2. Julian asked Why do you have a tiny braid in the back of your hair?

3. yes, being right is not as strong as being kind. Kindness is important it runs through friends family and acquaintances. Being right doesn't mean anything, good job you did something right but you just left someone behind in the dust you made.

4. I think August was mad at his mother because she was being a bit overprotected, she has been asking a load of questions.

5. Most people prefer not to be friends with an ugly person.

6. An aversion is when you feel hatred towards something. He doesn't like having his photo taken.

7. People think he is a walking disease. Its like he's the old mouldy cheese in Diary Of A Wimpy Kid. August felt violated.

8. My opinion of Jack Will has changed. He lied to August about being his friend and has been talking behind his back.

9. No, He feels betrayed and depressed that his friend lied to him. He doesn't feel like seeing Jack.

His wish was that he had a normal face that no one ever noticed at all.

He knows that ordinary kids don't make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. And ordinary kids don't get stared at wherever they go. August is extraordinary because he is different from anyone else, and because he has been very brave going through a load of surgeries.

They stare at him constantly. Treat him differently compared to the other kids.

It's something you say about someone who goes somewhere calmly, not knowing that something unpleasant is going to happen to them.

Yes, I would definitely send Augie to school. He needs to learn more than his parents can teach. He needs to socialize and make new friends.

August is going to a school. He took a test to see if he was good enough.

A shiny smile is when you have a huge smile on your face, showing your teeth. I don't know if it means that it was a fake smile or a real smile.
8.
Julian has a bad attitude as well as him doubting August abilities, eg when he asked if he knows what an eraser is.
